Assisting you in the recovery from injury in the most efficient way possible.

HPP are experts in movement and exercise. Our focus is on working out what the problem is, how it started and then finding a program that will help get you back on your feet.
It doesn’t end there though, we also set you up with some exercises to try and prevent you from a recurrence.

Health Performance Physio began in September 2016 with just two physiotherapists in a small room in East Maitland. From day one, our mission has been simple: deliver exceptional care and help our community live “Life to the Full.”
Today, we are a team of 19 dedicated professionals serving East Maitland and Raymond Terrace. Over the past decade, we’ve grown alongside our community, building a reputation for clinical excellence, genuine care, and outstanding outcomes.
In 2026, as we celebrate 10 years, we’re entering an exciting new chapter — moving into brand-new, purpose-built facilities in both East Maitland and Raymond Terrace to better serve our patients for decades to come.
From humble beginnings to two thriving clinics, our purpose remains the same: helping you move better, feel stronger, and return to what matters most.
At HPP we have 5 key values

We believe that every individual has inherent value. Every person is deserving of respect, time and care.

We believe that genuine humility is important in relationships, in service and in life. Understanding that we are no better than anyone else allows us to best meet the needs of the people around us.

We believe that life is best lived in community. We try and live at peace within our community. This includes staff, patients, referrers and the local Hunter community.

We believe in constantly striving to improve in all facets of our lives. From the presentation of the clinic to the treatment to intercompany systems we are always looking to be better.

We believe that when working together we can achieve far better things than when working alone. We look to actively combine to achieve results, within the company and with others.
We focus on:
• Thorough assessments
• Clear diagnosis and education
• Evidence-based treatment
• Strength and exercise-based rehab
• Measurable outcomes
Most importantly, we focus on helping you return to the activities that matter most — living Life to the Full.
Physiotherapists commonly treat:
• Back and neck pain
• Shoulder, knee, and ankle injuries
• Sports injuries
• Work-related injuries
• Post-operative rehabilitation
• Headaches
• Tendon pain
• Arthritis
If you’re unsure whether we can help, just ask.
Treatment should never feel uncontrolled or unsafe. Some techniques or exercises may create temporary discomfort, especially when rehabbing injuries, but this is always explained and guided appropriately.
Our aim is to progress you safely and effectively.
Yes. If you have extras cover that includes physiotherapy, you can claim on the spot through HICAPS (if available in your clinic).
Please bring:
• Any relevant scans (X-ray, MRI, CT)
• Referral letters (if applicable)
• Private health insurance card
• Comfortable clothing suitable for assessment
Not at all. Physiotherapy isn’t just for injuries.
We help with:
• Injury prevention
• Strength and performance
• Post-surgery rehab
• Workplace or sporting screening
• Long-term condition management
This depends on:
• The type of injury
• How long it has been present
• Your goals
• Your commitment to the treatment plan
At your first appointment, we’ll outline expected timeframes and milestones so there are no surprises.
Initial consultations are typically longer to allow for a comprehensive assessment. Follow-up appointments focus on treatment progression and exercise progression.
If you require extended time (complex cases, multiple areas, return-to-sport planning), we can arrange longer sessions.
Your initial consultation includes:
• A detailed discussion about your injury or concern
• A thorough physical assessment
• A clear diagnosis and explanation
• A personalised treatment plan
• Hands-on treatment where appropriate
• Exercises or strategies to begin straight away
Our goal is that you leave your first appointment understanding exactly what’s going on and what the plan is to get you back to “Life to the Full.”

However, you may need a referral if:
• You are claiming through WorkCover

If you’re unsure, our team can guide you.
